Makers + Shakers: Meet Bite Me More

Makers + Shakers 8 Creatives you should follow

Last year, over on Seattle Mama, I started a  series interviewing local powerhouses who started with an idea and turned it into a crazy reality. It was so popular, I thought to myself, 'hey self, you should do the same thing, except this time, you should stalk some more of  your favorite bloggers from all over'.

So, for the next 8 Wednesdays, I bring you the Makers + Shakers Series: 8 Creatives You Should Follow.  If you know who they are, woo hoo, you are so hot and trendy.  If not, then look at that, you learned something new today.
Makers + Shakers: Bite Me More

Our inaugural post begins with the sisters of Bite Me More, Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat.  If you are looking for quirky and fabulously budget friendly party themes, original recipes, entertaining tips and chic tricks get you out of hot water in your kitchen and bring fun to your table, this is where you need to start.

The moment I saw one of their party tables, I've been hooked ever since and I know you will too! Read on as I pick their fantastically creative brains and share a few of my favorite projects of theirs...

Tuesday Tip - Free Fun With Popsicle® Rules For Being A Kid Guidebook

This post was created in connection with my appointment as an Ambassador in the Popsicle® Blogger Program. Visit www.facebook.com/popsicle to join in on the conversation.

I can't believe how quickly summer is flying by...and so is our Summer Of Popsicle®! I've finally had an opening in our schedule to set the date for this year's Popsicle Party for mid-August. Last year's party was so much fun; this year we'll be at our favorite park so stay tuned for sneak peeks...

Have you had a chance to check out Popsicle® Rules For Being A Kid Guidebook?  You can download it here; it is full of ideas and activities for great family summer fun, from coloring pages, rules to read with your kids, games, and craft activities like cut out mustaches, for your popsicle of course.

We downloaded a few pages and had an afternoon of color.   The little one loved coloring his own Popsicle®...he went with stripes, all of his favorite popsicle flavors.

He also loves word searches and their version was right up his alley!

He thought mustaches on popsicles were pretty silly...

...but his favorite part are the jokes.  He actually knew this one...ugh...grossness!

Be sure and download your free copy download your Popsicle® Guidebook Rules For Summer.

We Go Wednesday - Seattle Bloggers Unite At Aran Goyoaga Studio

Seattle Bloggers Unite A Spring Social
So clearly it's not Wednesday...and if I don't post this now, it will be even more months.  Plus, my new series Makers + Shakers goes live this Wednesday.  Yeah, I don't like more than one post going live per day.

A few years ago, my friend Lyndsey of The Stationery Place decided to corral Seattle bloggers into one central location place to connect, plan meetups and share news. Thus, Seattle Bloggers Unite was born. We’ve been at some great spots, from DRY Soda headquarters to Trophy Cupcakes.  And eventually, I will get around to sharing our recent trip to Farewell Paperie where I made my own letterpress cards!

With my night classes, I’ve been missing a lot of meetups...actually, I haven't been since the Trophy Cupcakes event. So when the email for the next meetup hit my inbox for THE Aran Goyoaga’s studio AND she is on the panel, AND it wasn't on a class night, I was there. Yes, Aran Goyoaga of Cannelle Et Vanille, fabulous food stylist and photographer, author of Small Plates and Sweet Treats…I’m sorry, my crush slipped out a bit.

Sorry for the quality of my photos, it was dim and my phone's camera works only in daylight.  It's like an anti-vampire...

Real Party - Mother's Day Tea Birthday Party

Mother's Day Tea Birthday Party invitations
Last year I shared my inspiration board for my Mother's Day Tea Birthday Party...and never got around to sharing the party. So I totally meant to share it this year before Mother's Day...but not so much. But hey, better late than never right?

Since I only have boys, tea parties are non-existent. But who says I can't have one for myself?

As always, I have a party centerpiece...and my party wall is it! I made coordinating paper rosettes and hung paper fans.

Fiesta Friday/Real Party - Flamingo + Pineapple Party X 2

It's a Flamingo + Pineapple party all this week on the blog.  Those two are so trendy, summer cool right now, I couldn't resist getting in on the fun.  I did two shoots in one, a kids' table and tweaking it a bit for an adult soiree.First it was my inspiration board, then it was pineapple macarons and more pineapple crafts.

Today is the piece de resistance...not one but two party tables. If you haven't seen it already, head over to Bloom Designs for the kids' table. I thought it would be fun to show how you take some of the same ideas and tweak them for a more adult feel.

As you can see, from the déjà vu,  I kept the same background elements and a few table elements but did a little tweaking for a more grown up feel.  This is great for those times you want to reuse party items for separate parties that need to go from cutesy to chic.
